Session:
The Session is the governing body of the local Church and is made up of the Pastor, Elders and Deacons, elected by the Congregation.
The Pastor and his tasks:
The Elders:
The task of the Elders, together with the Pastor, is the pastoral oversight of the Congregation. The Elders visit each home in their district at least once per year. If you have a matter which you believe should be drawn to the attention of the Session, then you should contact an Elder who will then convey the matter to Session verbally, or you may write a letter to the Session Clerk. The Deacons:
The Deacons are responsible for the Ministry of Mercy to the needy in the congregation as well as in the general community. DIACONAL OFFERINGS are held from time to time during worship services to maintain financial resources.
Committee of Management: The positions of committee members include: The committee of management oversees and reviews the Church's financial situation and sets-up the Church's financial annual budget. This committee is also responsible for repairing and maintaining the Church building and property. Sound Ministry:
Our church facilities have a sound system that allows all to participate in every Worship Service with ease. A Hearing Aid Loop allows those with hearing impediments to clearly hear what is going on in each service. To support this technology a Sound Ministry Team is trained in the operation of the various tasks needed to ensure that all goes smoothly in each Service. Volunteers are welcome to join this ministry and training is provided. Church Library:
There are Bible Commentaries, study books, Christian novels and videos. You are encouraged to make use of these resources to enrich your study of God. For more details you can contact the Librarian. Church Activities:
The Church has many activities for Adults, Children and all Youth. All activities are organized and run by devoted members. Click Adult or Children and Youth for details information. Ministry Apprenticeship:
We are offering Ministry Apprenticeship programs. Our Apprentice is on a 12 months contract, during this time the apprentice is trained in Pastoral Care and Preaching and various other ministry activities. This enables the apprentice to have an educated insight into full time vocational ministry. Creche:
The Creche is run during the morning service in the hall at the back of the Church. Tapes of Services:
Tapes of Services are available. Tapes are loaned free, but a small charge is added if you wish to keep the tape or give it to someone else. Children's and Youth Services: Children's and Youth Services are special worship events in which the younger children and our youth are encouraged to be involved in. | |||||||||||
